The formula
Converted = amount ÷ rate(from) × rate(to), routing through the US dollar as the base. Rates are units of each currency per 1 USD.
— How it works
Conversion routes through a base currency: the amount is converted to US dollars using the source rate, then to the target using its rate. For a reference tool a once-a-day snapshot is accurate enough — but a bank or money-transfer service will quote a slightly different rate that includes their margin.
Assumptions
- Rates last fetched 2026-08-05 19:00 UTC — a daily snapshot, not live market prices.
- No bank spread or transaction fee is applied.
— Reader questions
Are these live exchange rates?
No — they are a snapshot refreshed once a day, shown with its date. For an actual trade or transfer, check your provider’s live rate, which also includes a spread on top of the mid-market rate.
Why does my bank give a different rate?
Banks and transfer services add a margin (spread) to the mid-market rate shown here, and may charge a fee. The rate you actually receive is usually a little worse than this reference figure.
How often are the rates updated?
Once a day, via an automated job. The "rates as of" date below the result shows the snapshot in use.
